From the end of September it will be possible to export in the USA Italian apples and pears. Therefore, a new important opportunity opens for our fruit and vegetable field, as USA are a fundamental market for Made in Italy food, with an increase in sales of 11% in 2012 and 7% in the first five months of 2013.
Today Italian fruits and vegetables realize abroad a quarter of their proceeds of sales. With a production of about 35 million tons per year and a turnover of about 12 billions, Italy contends with Spain for the title “vegetable garden of Europe”.
