Atlante, a company that operates in the large-scale retail sector as a partner of the main Italian chains to import food products from all over the world and that exports the best Italian specialties abroad, reaches another milestone in its internationalization path by exporting the apples produced in Trentino Alto-Adige and Piemonte in India, a market with a great potential and a constantly growing request with a demand of around 300/400 containers per week (where each container has a capacity of around 20,000 kg of apples).
The aim of the company based in Casalecchio di Reno (Bologna) and led by Natasha Linhart, ceo and founder, which in 2018 recorded a turnover of 150 million euros, is a gradual growth from here to the next 5 years to reach 1000 containers per season.
For Atlante it is the first fruit and vegetable product exported abroad. The company has taken care of every step of the process, from the research and certification of the producer and the product, to the selection, the logistical aspect that includes loading into the containers, shipping and distribution to the customer.
On behalf of one of the major retailers in India, Atlante has identified the Italian mountain apples most in line with the Indian market requirements, selecting Gala, Granny and Red Delicious produced in Trentino Alto-Adige and Piemonte.
Last January, Atlante brought the Indian customer to Italy to visit the apple-producing companies personally, thus enhancing the tradition and quality of Made in Italy and consolidating Atlante's approach to create relationships with customers and suppliers based on transparency and trust and aimed at the mutual growth of all parties involved.
