The Consortium for the Protection of Asiago Cheese celebrates its best performance ever in Asiago DOP cheese exports to the United Kingdom. In the first seven months from January to July 2013 sales of Asiago PDO increased by 82.87% compared to the same months of 2011, thanks to the hard work of the Consortium and of the partners that targeted the major multiples market, entering into a collaboration with top chains such as Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Waitrose. At the same time, sales were driven by the cosmopolitan city of London; with a population of over eight million and around 20 million visitors per year, it shows its appreciation for international cuisine and that it is seeking gourmet taste experiences, which can be found in high quality Italian product and with the diversified offer of fresh and seasoned Asiago.
