In Italy food is culture. Seven Food Museums and a full calendar of activities for the whole family will give substance to ‘World Food Day 2015’. This meeting will be celebrated on Sunday, October 18th in the province of Parma. Throughout the day, between 10.00 AM and 9.00 PM, the museums dedicated to the most important food and wine products of this land will be open to the public with free entrance and many free interactive activities: workshops, multimedia tours, and ‘special’ guided and animated visits.Experts and researchers called to tell both stories and secrets of the products that make famous the valley of Parma in the world, as well as entertainers with extensive experience, will lead these paths. Many meetings will focus especially on children, who will be ‘masters’ of the museum for an afternoon thanks to the initiative ‘A whole Museum for us’. This meeting is proposed by ‘Googol’ Association in the exhibition spaces of Felino (Salami Museum) and Soragna (Wine Museum).
In the museums at Collecchio (Tomato and Pasta Museums), too, children will have the opportunity of enjoying themselves ‘With a finger in the pie ...’, in order to make sense-perceptual explorations and memory games offered by ‘Esperta’, while the Wine Museum at Sala Baganza will propose a treasure hunt named ‘At the Museum with Babette.’ Finally, at the Ham Museum at Langhirano the first stage of the project ‘Growing in harmony, bringing up to wellbeing’ will take place. This activity is proposed by the Municipality of Parma, with the meeting ‘At the museum there is more taste!’: children, boys and girls, accompanied by their parents, will have the opportunity of participating in a guided tour, specifically designed for them, and an interactive workshop in order to find out how the sense of taste works.
